About me

Eng. Basil Alnasan

Software engineer and university instructor, teaching bachelor-level computer science in Arabic

I am Basil Alnasan, a software engineer from Madinah. I graduated in Software Engineering from Prince Mugrin University with a 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA and an A+ in every course, received the Education Excellence Award from the Ministry of Education as the second-best student in Saudi Arabia in 2019, and completed the accelerated artificial intelligence programme at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

Today I lead the software engineering team at Abbu and teach Database Systems and Introduction to Cyber Security at the Cloud Academy of Princess Nourah University. Before that I was a teaching assistant for the Programming and Object-Oriented Programming courses at the College of Computer and Cyber Sciences, Prince Mugrin University. The courses you find here are the same ones I took with distinction and then taught in the classroom, explained the way I wish they had been explained to me.

How I teach

  • I follow the same university syllabus, chapter by chapter, but explain why before how.
  • Examples and code are written in front of you, and I work through exam-style and assignment-style questions.
  • Terminology stays in English as it appears in the textbook and slides, so nothing surprises you in the exam.
